Jacob van Rijs is officially announced as the new chairman of the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam. On Wednesday October 26, 2016, the AFFR Foundation installed its new board. After years of great commitment and diligent hard work to successfully broaden and deepen the scope of the festival, Petra Rutten, Theo Hauben and Jord den Hollander resigned as members of the board.
The new members of the board of AFFR, next to Jacob van Rijs as chairman, are Carine Eijsbouts (journalist, researcher, editor and policy advisor at a.o. VPRO), Jeroen Laven (urban planner, founding partner and managing director at STIPO) and the treasurer of the board Marieke Berkers (architectural historian, member of the editorial board of Blauwe Kamer, lecturer at TU Delft, researcher and writer). Joep Mol as festival director of AFFR will not be a memeber of the board. Jord den Hollander will remain involved as Curator of the AFFR and will be responsible for the programming of the festival.
The AFFR is an annual festival which programs architecture related films from all over the world. The next edition will be organized in October 2017.
