MVRDV has been ranked number one in the May-June architecture rankings of Chinese website Designverse. The ranking assesses architecture firms' influence on the design industry, and is calculated algorithmically on a bi-monthly basis using a variety of inputs including publications in architecture journals, on design websites, awards won, and projects completed.

In their most recently released ranking, calculating the months of May and June, MVRDV received a Designverse Index (DVI) score of 168, almost six times the score given to the second-place firm.
