Valley has won the Future Project of the Year Award in the 2020 Future Project Awards from MIPIM and The Architectural Review. Designed by MVRDV for client EDGE Technologies, Valley received the award for best Commercial Mixed-Use project then beat out all other competitors to take the top prize.
Valley’s three peaks of varied heights reach up to a maximum of 100 metres at which the publicly accessible Sky-bar sits, spread out over the top two stories, offering panoramic views over Amsterdam. The building includes 196 apartments, 7 storeys of offices, a three-storey underground car park with 375 parking spots, and various retail and cultural facilities. From street level, a pedestrianised path, running alongside retails functions, terraces, and roof gardens, leads up to the central valley area, from which the project gets its name, spread across the 4th and 5th level surrounding the central tower. Internationally renowned landscape architect Piet Oudolf designed all of Valley’s vegetation, focusing on a year-round green appearance.
