Jacob will discuss the impact of public space and its design on democracy, and the idea of the 'commons' and its relevance to today's society. The lecture forms part of a publically accessible lecture series developed in parallel to the Summer School 'Beyond Resilience', organised by the Foundation Thinking City (VMX Architects and Zef Hemel) with the University of Amsterdam and AMS (Metropolitan Institute for Advanced Solutions). These lectures provide a discussion platform for both local and international communities. Knowledge is exchanged among the participating students and local interested parties. The lectures are in different locations in the city.
