Nathalie de Vries to lecture on risk-taking and the future of architecture in Heidelberg

undefined

On April 9th, Nathalie de Vries will deliver a lecture on the future of architecture and the necessity of risk taking at Schloss Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany. Many German cities are plagued by monotonous residential architecture and restrictive codes designed to mitigate aesthetic and cultural risks, not to mention financial ones. This often-stifling climate leads to a lack of creativity not only in architectural design itself, but in the way in which people practice their everyday lives. This lecture will explore the need for taking risks in order to save the architecture of the future from monotony. It will be followed by a panel discussion with Herr Prof. Michael Braum, Geschäftsführer IBA Heidelberg GmbH and Herr Dr. Gereon Uerz, Zukunftsforscher.

Location : Staatliche Schlösser und Gärten Baden-Württemberg, Schlossverwaltung Heidelberg, Schlosshof 1, Heidelberg, DE

Time : 19.00 - 22.000h
