How Do We Build the Future? On 3rd July, Sanne van der Burgh, Director Research & Innovation at MVRDV and founder of MVRDV NEXT, will speak at the Festival der Zukunft in Munich, an annual technology, science and culture festival in Munich. It is organised jointly by the Deutsches Museum and the 1E9 think tank and is aimed at anyone interested in innovation and shaping the future.

Sanne will discuss how new technologies—including AI, robotics, computational design, and circular building methods—can transform architecture and urban development. The session explores why today's cities are still often built using outdated approaches despite the availability of more sustainable, resilient, and people-centered solutions. Together with other experts, she will examine how innovation can help create greener, more livable neighborhoods and regenerative buildings.

  • Date and time: July 3, 13:30 – 14:25
