Project leaders Lorenzo Mattozzi and Cosimo Scotucci will be leading an intensive course at the University of Melbourne. The course called “Venice Studio at MPavilion 2022” comprises 20 leading international offices of architecture and urbanism, such as MAD Architects, Snohetta, UN Studio, Zaha Hadid Architects. Over the course of 12 days, a series of live streamed short design studios and public programs will see the participation of 88 selected students, located both in Melbourne and internationally.

The course will focus on the development of 5 areas of Venice selected by MAP Studio who is the architect responsible for the MPavilion 2021.

MVRDV, together with Baukuh, Bolles+Wilson and Lütjens Padmanabhan Architekten will work on the refurbishment of the shipyard area of Sant’Elena and it will focus on making the project a manifesto for the application of the UN SDGs in architecture and urban planning.

On January 17 and January 18 the results of all studios will be discussed publicly online. The live streamed studio sessions under “The Lightcatcher Pavilion” in Melbourne are free and available via Zoom.
