How can we design architecture that enhances gender equity? Architect and MVRDV studio coordinator Monica Velasco will give a lecture on how MVRDV addresses this topic in their designs at the Camacol Congress, organized by the Colombian Chamber of Construction, on August 19.
Monica Velasco Bacarreza holds a master's degree in urban design and planning in regeneration projects from the Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands. Working in the field of urban design, urban food systems, and management for over 10 years, Monica developed extensive experience in integrated sustainable projects around the Netherlands, Nigeria, and Bolivia.
Her current role as studio coordinator at MVRDV is to support the acquisition process for urban projects that are meaningful, remarkable, inclusive, and sustainable. From proposal writing to foster relationships with partners. The projects developed in MVRDV range from healthy urbanism, housing, regional planning, masterplans, and sustainability worldwide.
The Camacol Congress is a yearly event organized by the Chamber of Construction in Colombia and covers topics such as economics, construction trends, management, sustainability, green cities, real estate and trends. At the congress, public and private partners from the construction sector meet and exchange knowledge.
