Are you curious how the design of The Modernist has emerged, the thought process behind it and how it will contribute to Rotterdam’s architecture? On June 19,  MVRDV Associate Mick van Gemert will share the highlights of this upcoming project at the new location where the new building will be located as part of the Rotterdam Architecture Day 2021.

Associate Mick van Gemert leads the work of design teams in MVRDV’s Americas Studio. His dedication to balancing conceptual strength by forging strong design narratives, with clear attention to buildability, results in numerous competition successes, including large-scale residential towers in Rotterdam, The Sax and The Modernist, and in the United States, Radio Tower NY, in New York City, and Mission Rock, in San Francisco.

The Rotterdam Architecture Day 2021 allows you to discover the rich history and future city developments with thematic walks, presentations at special locations, as well as audio routes to set on your own. It gives people the unique opportunity to see the architecture through the eyes of architects, historians, and artists.
