What would Amsterdam look like if the metropolitan region was home to a population of 5 million? The Why Factory, led by MVRDV founding partner Winy Maas, teamed up with Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS Institute) to create an design studio and film asking exactly that question. "1000 Ideas for Amsterdam". It serves as an open, accessible and visible exploration of the participating students with teachers, experts and local actors of the themes, fantasies and ideas for the future of Amsterdam as a unique place in Europe.
Exhibition EndLESS Amsterdam at Arcam
All ideas will be modelled and visualized in a 3D collective digital model. The digital model will act as a platform to visualize each idea and scenario as well as measuring their impacts on a neighborhood, city and metropolitan scale. The results of the design studio will be exhibited and are a part of Acram EndLESS Amsterdam Exhibition opening from Nov 20th to 28 February 2021 in all areas of the ARCAM pavilion.
