MVRDV Asia Director Marta Pozo is speaking at the 3rd China Tall Building International Industry Summit on September 19-20 in Shanghai. Her presentation explores two subjects: the densification and intensification of the cityscape, and the reactivation of existing districts.
In Part I, Marta will present two high-density projects in development (The Valley and The Sax), both of which are high rise, high density, and utilise prefabricated building elements. They also promote a connection to the natural environment, and facilitate social interaction, alongside meeting commercial and residential programme requirements. With Markthal, Part II addresses how the strategic reorganization of resources in an existing context, in an innovative and creative way, can unlock its full potential, to transform a dormant city district into a vibrant neighborhood and city destination.

About the Summit: Organized by Architectural Society of China, and supported by AIA-Shanghai/Beijing, RIBA, RICS and ULI, the China Tall Building International Industry Summit is about the development and progress of the high-rise building industry in China's high-density core area. This year, the summit will discuss the opportunities and challenges of high-rise construction in the whole process of investment development, design and construction, operation and maintenance management, and show the high-rise buildings in China and the world with the most exciting features.
