MVRDV Partner Jan Knikker speaks on 4th September 2019 in Kiel during the event series "Kieler Perspektiven - Dialogues on Urban Development" about "Utopia as a pioneer of identity?".
The fact that Kiel can be "cool" is shown by MVRDV with its "KoolKiel" project, where a new mixed-use complex will redevelop a post-industrial site. Also in other cities there will be new identities with iconographic to pragmatic architectural solutions thanks to an unconventional approach. What is the external view of the city of Kiel like and what visions - utopian to radical - does the sustainable urban landscape need?
After the lecture there is a public discussion with City Councillor Doris Grondke, Department of Urban Development and Environment.
