MVRDV Asia director, architect, and BREEAM assessor Marta Pozo will give the lecture From Design to Creation of the Tianjin Binhai Library at the University of Hong Kong.

The role of libraries has evolved over the centuries, from a symbol of the renaissance of human culture to achieve of knowledge, to community activators, and many others. The current need for physical spaces that brings people, information and ideas together offers many design explorations and ask for a reconsideration of the existing strategy.

During the lecture, Marta Pozo will present the evolution of MVRDV thinking about library buildings, ending up with the explanation of the design process and construction, the purpose and the ultimate experience of Tianjin Binhai Library.
